Welcome to my private Blog. I am Manuel Mauky and I am living in the small town Goerlitz in the east of germany next to the polish border. I've studied Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Goerlitz and now I'm working at Saxonia Systems AG as an IT-Consultant.

Here in my Blog I write about some of my private software projects and other things I'm interested in. In the first place this is software development with JavaScript, XML, XUL and Firefox-Extensions. While at work I'm using Java as the main programming language, in private I like to code in JavaScript. I see JavaScript not as a programming language only for fancy website effects but as an interesting and underestimated programming language with wide use cases. The most time I use JavaScript for coding things connected to Mozilla Firefox like extensions or applications with the Mozilla Application Framework. Also other things like service-side JavaScript with node.js I find really interesting.

Video editing is one of my other hobbies. In the past I have made a lot of "game videos" - videos created not with a normal camera but only with a computer game. The most of my videos are so called "fragmovies" where some special sequences of multiplayer games are cut fast to action-packed music. But in the last time I have not done any new videos. Probably I'm working on a new one in the future.

Another short note: You will find out that some of the posts in my blog are in written in german and some in english. This is because in the past I've written only in german but all the newer posts are in english.
